Wood is the traditional choice for a pusher, and the one that decides what kind of set you are selling. A painted wooden pusher reads as a gift set; acrylic reads as a tournament set. Same dimensions either way, so a buyer can switch material without redesigning the case.
Why wood instead of acrylic
- It feels warmer. Wood is a little heavier in the hand and does not click against a tile the way acrylic does — quieter during play.
- It takes paint properly. Opaque white, cream, pastel or a Pantone match, in a flat finish that photographs without hotspots.
- It prints differently. Logos go on by silkscreen, which holds a solid colour and a fine line well; it will not give you photographic gradients.
- It is the version gift buyers remember. A white wooden set with a printed logo is what ends up in a living room rather than a club.
If you want translucent bodies, tortoise or marble effects, that is the acrylic version — wood cannot do those.
Colours
White is the volume colour, and the one to be careful with: “white” varies between suppliers from a warm cream to a cool blue-white. Ask for a painted sample before committing, and keep it as the master for reorders.
Any other colour is a Pantone match, mixed to your reference. Pastels (pink, mint, lilac) sell well in gift ranges; deep tones show dust, so we do not recommend them for white-table retail.
Magnetic, same as the acrylic
Each pusher carries two or three 8 × 2 mm magnets, with the matching set in the plate. The pull is strong enough that the two halves seat themselves.
In play, that keeps the pusher from creeping when a player pushes the wall forward. In transit, it keeps a set in four pieces instead of eight, and lets four sets stack flat without sliding.
Scallop or straight
Both edges are available. Scallop gives a thumb a place to sit and is the profile most American players associate with a proper set; straight is cleaner to print on and cheaper to finish. See the acrylic page for the side-by-side comparison.
How pricing works
Wood is priced on length, thickness, paint (white is the volume colour; a Pantone match is mixed per run) and the number of silkscreen colours in the logo.
Quantity does most of the work: 100 sets and 1,000 sets are not the same price per set, and the difference between them is larger than any single material upgrade. Send the quantity with the artwork and we quote that tier exactly.
Getting a quote
Send the length, the colour, the edge style and the logo artwork. Minimum is 100 sets — four pushers to a set — and lead time runs about a month.
Pricing and sample cost are quoted directly: email or WhatsApp us and we will send the price list for the size and colour you need.
